Chiyogami Stud Earrings-Gold and Black Sayagata
This listing is for one pair of stud earrings in gold and black of a sayagata pattern. They are handmade with Japanese Chiyogami paper that is placed on a 1/2 inch circle laser cut birch wood. The piece is finished off with a layer of resin. The metal earring findings are of lead and nickel-free stainless steel and have a a nice tight ear back.
The Sayagata is one of the oldest known symbols and used in many countries. In Japan it represents a wish for household prosperity and longevity. That is probably why it was commonly used on the silk of white kimonos in wedding ceremonies. You can also see this design on floor tiles and lots of fabrics and silk-screened paper
Because of the paper and wood, I advise to always take your Sweet Space jewelry off before bathing or swimming. Also, please do not spray alcohol products like hairspray or perfume near them because it can damage the piece.
Due to the nature of the silk-screened paper the placement of the design may vary.
