Chiyogami White and Pink Cherry Blossoms on Red Small Earrings
Handmade earrings made of lightweight birch wood covered with Japanese chiyogami paper and finished off with a shiny resin. The wood piece measures 1/2 inch wide and around a 1/8 inch thickness. The design of this paper is of pink and white cherry blossoms on a red background. The earrings have an almost 1.5 inch long nickel and lead-free brass kidney wire so the overall measure is around 2 inches long. They are a fun pair that are very lightweight and comfortable to wear.
The cherry blossoms (Sakura) along with plum blossoms are heralds of Spring in Japan, and are also a metaphor for the ephemeral nature of life
Due to the nature of the silk-screened paper the placement of the design may vary.
Because of the paper and wood, I advise to always take your Sweet Space jewelry off before bathing or swimming. Also, please do not spray alcohol products like hairspray or perfume because it can damage the piece.
