Chiyogami Shippo Blues Large Earrings
Handmade earrings in a shippo design in blues and golds. These earrings are made of lightweight birch wood covered with Japanese chiyogami paper and finished off with a shiny resin. The wood piece measures 1.5 inch wide and around a 1/8 inch thickness. They have an almost 1.5 inch long nickel and lead- free brass kidney wire so the overall measure is around 3 inches long. They are a lovely statement piece that are very lightweight and comfortable to wear.
Shippo design is represented by never-ending linked circles. They are representative of the Seven Treasures in Buddhist scriptures which are gold, silver, lapis lazuli, crystal, agate, red coral, and carnelian. Shippo embodies a wish for family happiness and financial success. It is a beautiful paper with so much history.
Because of the paper and wood, I advise to always take your Sweet Space jewelry off before bathing or swimming. Also, please do not spray alcohol products like hairspray or perfume because it can damage the piece.
