I took my first book binding class in 2008 and fell in love with decorative paper, especially papers from Japan and Nepal. After covering a book, I would have lots of little bits of paper- so that is how all this started. It took awhile to figure out my new craft but it is always fun to learn something new. I make necklaces, earrings, hairpins, rings, and bookmarks from these beautiful papers.
I start by adhering the paper on a piece of birch wood or metal tray. I paint a few layers of glue over it to protect the paper from the two part resin that goes on top. This resin makes it shiny and water-resistant. However, Sweet Space pieces are not water-proof so please don't take them swimming with you. :) Thanks so much for supporting handmade! ~ Sarah Sweet
